This year, researchers worldwide have thoroughly surveyed the epigenomes of diverse human cells, detailing how our chromosomes’ malleable chemical flags may shape and reflect gene expression – and, in turn, broader physiology. Leveraging a boon of new assay technologies, such work now sheds light on diverse facets of health, from cancers to nerve diseases and beyond.
To spark further collaborative insight at this frontier of modern biology, the New York Genome Center will host the 2015 New York Epigenomics Symposium on May 4, in downtown Manhattan.
This daylong event will gather (epi)genomicists, bench technologists, disease specialists, computational biologists, drug developers, and other experts, to jointly understand key methods, findings, and open questions about epigenomic and epitranscriptomic modifications.
Students, postdocs, and junior investigators are invited to present posters on their epigenomic research. This event will take place at the New York Genome Center’s Auditorium.
