The eukaryotic genome and transcriptome are not merely a static combination of A, T, C, G and U. Reversible DNA methylation is known to contribute significantly to gene expression regulation. In recent years, dynamic RNA methylation has also emerged as a major mode of post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression. This Keystone Symposia conference will bring groups of scientists together to discuss how DNA and RNA methylation affect gene expression and control cell fate. It will also focus on their role in development of human diseases.
